Looking for an easy way to coax money out of your coworkers? Take a tip from Daisy and use your lunch room at work for a silent auction! Last year, Daisy provided baked goods for a week as well as auctioning off new luxury gift items she had at home.  To drive up participation, she entered each person who donated $5 or more into a draw for an expensive perfume gift set. The plan worked! Overall Daisy raised more than $1,000 for the cause!

Sandie Gibson (pictured here with her daughter) will be lacing up her sneakers to participate in the BC Lung Association’s 10th annual Stairclimb for Clean Air for the first time this year.

“After catching a preview of the staircase at the Wall Centre recently, I’ve stepped up my stair-master action at the gym,” said Gibson, an outdoor lover who hasn’t been as active this year as she would have liked.Gibson is participating with a team of co-workers, aged 20 to near 60, all of whom are using the stairs at work to train for the big event.

“Signing up for Stairclimb was the motivation I needed to get  more active again. It also feels good to contribute to a worthy cause.  It sets a good example for my daughter, who I will be bringing to cheer me on,” she added.
